Sensitization of the youth representatives on tobacco control

No Smoking Day

As per the World Health Organisation, tobacco kills more than 8 million people each year, including an estimated 1.3 million non-smokers who are exposed to second-hand smoke. With an aim to create awareness on the detrimental health harms of smoking, ‘No Smoking Day’ is observed every year on the second Wednesday in March.

National No Smoking Day is dedicated to promoting the benefits of quitting smoking and offering support and resources to those who wish to quit.

It also emphasises on the need to promote smoke-free environments for people who are exposed to second hand smoke.
